What inspired you to start your business?
Scilla Rose was inspired by a shared dream to turn our mutual love of crystals, wellness and meaningful gifting into something beautiful. What began as a heartfelt idea to create thoughtful, soul-nourishing gifts that bring comfort, joy and connection grew into a small family business built with care, passion and purpose.
We were driven by the belief that gifts should be more than just products. They should be experiences that touch the heart. That belief still guides everything we do today.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learnt so far on your journey?
The biggest lesson we’ve learned is that building a business is as much about resilience as it is about passion. Mistakes will happen and they’re an inevitable part of the journey, but each one is an opportunity to learn, grow and refine what we do.
We’ve discovered the importance of focusing our energy on what truly matters, staying true to our purpose, and not being too hard on ourselves when things don’t go exactly to plan. With determination and heart, you can always find a way forward.
What makes your business special?
From the very beginning, our mission has been about more than beautiful products. We wanted to craft meaningful experiences. Gifts that speak from the heart, bring comfort and care, and make people pause, breathe and feel loved.
Every detail matters to us. From carefully sourcing materials and designing our packaging, to creating beautiful gifting experiences here in the UK and caring deeply for our customers. We pour pride and passion into everything we make, from the ingredients and crystals we choose to the way each gift is presented.

What’s your favourite product and why?
If I had to choose one favourite, it would be our Inner Peace® Selenite Egg Light. It perfectly captures what Scilla Rose is all about. Creating beautiful, meaningful products that bring calm and comfort into people’s lives.
It’s not just a light, it symbolises new beginnings and quiet strength. Customers often tell us how much peace and positivity it brings into their space, whether they use it as part of a bedtime ritual, for meditation, or simply as a soothing presence at home. It’s also one of those products I always want to gift myself.
What’s the top piece of advice you’d give to fellow small business owners?
Be determined, stay brave and work hard. Running a small business isn’t always easy, but if you believe in what you’re doing and keep going, even when things get tough, you’ll find a way forward. Mistakes will happen. Learn from them and keep moving.
What’s the most memorable gift you’ve ever received?
The most memorable gift I’ve ever received was a special one from one of my girls. It had the word “Mum” on it. It wasn’t about the item itself, but what it represented. Love, appreciation and the bond we share.
It’s a reminder of why I do what I do. Creating gifts that hold meaning and emotion, just like that one did for me.
